Nurses hold a special place in my heart. I sincerely hold the hard work and dedication that everyone of them I've ever met has brought to her profession.
Now I know that there are male nurses, it's just that I've personally never met one, so I'm only speaking from experience.
Many years ago, when I was quite young, I became ill and had an extended stay in a hospital. My family wasn't able to visit me at first, and I was lonely and frightened.
A nice young nurse used to come and sit with me for awhile every evening after dinner. Her shift was over, but instead of rushing away, she always made some time for me. It's an experience I've never forgotten.
I guess that's why I hold the nursing profession in such high esteem. I hope you do, too.
